Over a world and over time
My heart looked and longed
For a Sweet as Thine

In every horizon and in every land
High and low, all I sought
Was only your Hand

Over the hill and through the dell
Finally my heart tripped over You
and over You quite fell

In the Chaos and in the Storm
Despite the Destruction
With You I am Warm

Stay with me stay with me
Let us ride out the swell
Let us tame the Sea

Stay with me stay with me
Let Love in my heart
With You and All be

Fear and Hatred awash in ether
A Peace should be again
Dear Sweet stay with me stay

One heart can so little do
Even two can do little more
My Love for You, my Love for You

Stay with me Dear Sweet stay
But only for a moment more
For a task have you this day

A Love to take is yours
To comfort the masses,
To open the doors

Over a world and over all time
My heart looked and longed
To share this Love of mine

Stay with me stay with me Dear Sweet stay
Just one moment more we share
Before the end a Hell Love slay

Take my Heart and take my Soul
To a ravaged world so grey
Heal the Hurt and Warm the Cold

My heart found and over You quite fell
And for You for You Dear Sweet
All the world I shall quell

What I would do, were I a Q,
Would be to scoop up dear sweet you,
Kiss you a time or two,
Snap my fingers in order to
Give to you all that is due

Wander the wide universe with you
Show too all that you can do
Oh dear sweet honeydew my sweet honeydew,
I would show you every micro and macro view,
Oh but if I were a Q, more than this I'd do

What I would do, were I a Q, would be for all and for you.

My dear sweet Wounded Wanderer walking through the wet, wild wood,
Searching for the Love he holds, burnng of betrayal he goes.

Would but a million kisses, would but a million loving words, would but the earth and sky above,
Would but a force of will would do, would but my soul very soul could quench, would but this for you,
Then this would be too.

I was listening to the infamous Asshole song by Dennis Leary, and started mentally changing some of the lyrics, so here is the result.  It doesn't all rhyme, but it fits rhythmically (^_^)  The rant at the end is going to take a bit to come up with, but this is what I blurted last night lol.  He was my first favourite comedian and has brought hours upon hours of joyous laughter  to my life <3

Folks, I'd like to sing a song about the American dream.
About me, about you, about the way our American hearts beat way
down in the bottom of our chests.
About the special feeling we get in the cockles of our hearts,
maybe below the cockles, maybe in the sub-cockle area, maybe in
the liver, maybe in the kidneys, maybe even in the colon. We
don't know....

I'm just a regular joe, with a regular job.
I'm your average white, suburbanite slob.
I like anime, and gaming, and books about aliens.
I got an average house, with a nice concrete floor.
My guy and my jobs, my friends and my car.
My feet on my table, and a shotglass of gin.

But sometimes that just ain't enough to keep a gal like me
interested (oh no) no way (uh-uh).
No I've gotta go out and have fun, at someone else's expense,
(oh yea) yea yea yea yea yea yea

I drive really slow, in the ultra-fast lane,
While people behind me are going insane.
Im an asshole (she's an asshole, what an asshole)
I'm an asshole (she's an asshole, such an asshole)

I log onto your computer, and I fuck with the settings,
I walk around in the recession saying "how about this economy?"
I'm an asshole (She's an asshole, what an asshole)
I'm an asshole (She's the world's biggest asshole)

Sometimes I press all the elevator buttons,
Then rip a big fart, while they all just suffer
I'm an asshole (She's an asshole, what an asshole)
I'm an asshole (She's a real fucking asshole)

Maybe I shouldn't be singing this song
Ranting and raving and carrying on
Maybe they're right when they tell me I'm wrong…
NAAAAH!

I'm an asshole (she's an asshole, what an asshole)
I'm an asshole (she's the world's biggest asshole)

A bottle of white wine sat across from me, reminding me that it had sat there, unopened, unappreciated for nigh on two months now.  A 2007 Sonoma pinot gris.

A coupon, giving the eye to the wine bottle, blared out in it's bright colours reminding me that I could get a very good deal on not only basil pesto, but a sun-dried tomato pesto.  Two for four dollars was quite a deal.

Upon my arrival at the grocery store to procure the much anticipated pestos, a pound of danish butter which was on special found its way into my basket as well.

Once home, I rubbed the sun dried tomato pesto into my chicken pieces and allowed them to get acquainted for a little while.  I then started the wine reducing on the stove along with almost the same amount of chicken stock and a bit of pepper.  Over a simmer, this was left to reduce by about 2/3 while the chicken baked.

Meanwhile, in another pan, a few cloves of garlic picked up a slight hint of colour as they bathed in pool of butter over a medium heat.  Once fragrant, a can of basil diced tomatoes joined in along with some blanched string beans and a spoonful of the partially reduced wine mixture.  This simmered until done and was set aside.

When the wine sauce was reduced and thickened, the mushrooms simply could not stay away from the party any longer, and took a swim in the irresistible liquid.  Once tender, I removed the pan from the heat, and bit by bit added some butter for creaminess.  The very flavourful drippings from the chicken also went in.  Some fine vermicelli was the destination for this sauce.

And such was dinner.  A tasty affair of spoon-licking flavours.

OK, it might be futile.  But I don't jolly well care.  For one thing the most Glorious of Battles are fought not in the light warmth of day, but in the depths of the dark night, against Impossible Odds.  Even if we are defeated though, I shan't go down without clawing and biting all the way.

That said, here's the petition we're trying to get signatures for.  Keep in mind we are a TINY TINY town and already have a few grocers, none of which are actively hiring because there isn't ENOUGH PEOPLE BUYING THAT MUCH F@CKING FOOD that we need ANOTHER grocer, especially one not known for their good wages (our local grocers are known to take care of their people and pay well) which is NOT FILLING ANY NEED WHATSOEVER.

So without further adieu,  the petition:

"To the Ceres City Planning Commission; we, the undersigned do not want the Wal mart super center approved.  Ceres does not need another shopping center, and Service road can't handle the kind of traffic the Super Wal Mart will bring."

[link]

Simple, to the point, and we have just barely over a week to get all the signatures we can and the funds to file the motion.   If you can offer nothing else, please please offer your thoughts and will, for it won't hurt and might just might help just a little bit.  And it's that little bit, that will, that wins battles.

Hey check this out peoples [link] is something wrong with this.  Abusers will often try to cut their victims off from the rest of their lives (friends, family) to prevent the victim from reaching out for and getting help.  IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE?  For those who do not want to follow a link, here is the text:

Confirming what a few have reported  this evening: in an action unprecedented in Internet history, the Egyptian government appears to have ordered service providers to shut down all international connections to the Internet. Critical European-Asian fiber-optic routes through Egypt appear to be unaffected for now. But every Egyptian provider, every business, bank, Internet cafe, website, school, embassy, and government office that relied on the big four Egyptian ISPs for their Internet connectivity is now cut off from the rest of the world. Link Egypt, Vodafone/Raya, Telecom Egypt, Etisalat Misr, and all their customers and partners are, for the moment, off the air.
egypt_outages.png

At 22:34 UTC (00:34am local time), Renesys observed the virtually simultaneous withdrawal of all routes to Egyptian networks in the Internet's global routing table. Approximately 3,500 individual BGP routes were withdrawn, leaving no valid paths by which the rest of the world could continue to exchange Internet traffic with Egypt's service providers. Virtually all of Egypt's Internet addresses are now unreachable, worldwide.

This is a completely different situation from the modest Internet manipulation that took place in Tunisia, where specific routes were blocked, or Iran, where the Internet stayed up in a rate-limited form designed to make Internet connectivity painfully slow. The Egyptian government's actions tonight have essentially wiped their country from the global map.

What happens when you disconnect a modern economy and 80,000,000 people from the Internet? What will happen tomorrow, on the streets and in the credit markets? This has never happened before, and the unknowns are piling up. We will continue to dig into the event, and will update this story as we learn more. As Friday dawns in Cairo under this unprecedented communications blackout, keep the Egyptian people in your thoughts.

Update (3:06 UTC Friday)

One of the very few exceptions to this block has been Noor Group (AS20928), which still has 83 out of 83 live routes to its Egyptian customers, with inbound transit from Telecom Italia as usual. Why was Noor Group apparently unaffected by the countrywide takedown order? Unknown at this point, but we observe that the Egyptian Stock Exchange (www.egyptse.com) is still alive at a Noor address.

Its DNS A records indicate that it's normally reachable at 4 different IP addresses, only one of which belongs to Noor. Internet transit path diversity is a sign of good planning by the Stock Exchange IT staff, and it appears to have paid off in this case. Did the Egyptian government leave Noor standing so that the markets could open next week?

Update (17:30 UTC Friday)

The Internet routing situation for Egypt continues to be bleak, with an estimated 93% of Egyptian networks currently unreachable. Renesys saw no significant improvements or changes in Egyptian international Internet routing overnight.

We have examined the takedown event more closely, looking at the sequence in which Egyptian service providers removed themselves from the Internet. The following plot shows the number of available networks for each of the significant providers, between 22:00 and 23:00 UTC last night (midnight to 1am Cairo time).
All_outages_zoom2.png

Our new observation is that this was not an instantaneous event on the front end; each service provider approached the task of shutting down its part of the Egyptian Internet separately.

    * Telecom Egypt (AS8452), the national incumbent, starts the process at 22:12:43.
    * Raya joins in a minute later, at 22:13:26.
    * Link Egypt (AS24863) begins taking themselves down 4 minutes later, at 22:17:10.
    * Etisalat Misr (AS32992) goes two minutes later, at 22:19:02
    * Internet Egypt (AS5536) goes six minutes later, at 22:25:10.

First impressions: this sequencing looks like people getting phone calls, one at a time, telling them to take themselves off the air. Not an automated system that takes all providers down at once; instead, the incumbent leads and other providers follow meekly one by one until Egypt is silenced.
Hello visitors to my page who are going to read it (and welcome even to those who don't). :D

My name is Katie, and I am trying to get better at taking and composing pictures.  I have had no formal training, but that doesn't stop me from aiming for professional level photography.  Being here on deviantART this past year has been very inspiring.  Much of the work displayed here is so good, so evocative, and so varied.  I haven't found a better place for inspiration to make pictures that capture the beauty and feel of nature, or any subject.

On that note, if you have any suggestions or critiques on the pictures I post here, please feel free to post them.  That is one of the ways you learn!
